Here is the NEW version of the Graduation Video in its entirety. Some minor changes and improvements have been made to the content since the VHS version. The video still documents the events of graduation week 2003, including Senior Picnic, Senior Awards Assembly, and Graduation. The video concludes with the names of every graduate of Carlynton's class of 2003, and each picture from the yearbook, morphing into one another. This video's quality has been drastically lowered in order to make it downloadable. The DVD version, on the other hand, will be of the highest quality possible. To examine this aspect and other information on the DVD, continue to scroll down for details.

If you still live in the Carlynton area, you can pick up the DVD at my house, or if more convenient, I can deliver it myself. If you have moved, or if you will not be in the Carlynton area any time soon, I can mail you the DVD. Though, I would have to add on a shipping fee of $1.59. Either way, I will find a way that fits your needs as far as getting the DVD to you.

Quality of the NEW Version

When the original Graduation video was created, I took the videos from my camcorder, and stored them on my computer. To do this I had to compress each of the video clips to save hard drive space. In doing so, the video clips lost much of their quality, in both video and audio. These were the videos I used in making the original movie. When I made the New Version, I went through my tapes that I still had from Graduation and uploaded the same video clips as I did the first time, so I had the same content as when I originally made the movie. Except this time, I stored the video clips to my computer without compressing each file. The videos used a lot of hard drive space, but I would only keep them for as long as it took to make the New Version so it wasn't a problem. I used the same program and the same file (which told how the video clips were order and created video effects) as the Old Version was created on, and substituted the old compressed (reduced quality) video clips for the New Un-compressed (high quality). Then I went through the movie and made some slight adjustments. This is how I went about redoing the Graduation video.

To show the difference in qualities from the old and new versions, here are some individual frames from each. You can click each of them, to see a full size version.

The NEW Version is roughly 30x better in quality than the Old Version

Notice the colors in the NEW version are more lifelike than the Old Version

Not only are the actual videos higher quality in the NEW Version but the format (DVD) is also a much better quality format than the Original was recorded on (VHS). If you've ever watched a DVD before, you know that the it sounds and looks better than a regular VHS tape. Plus there is no need to rewind the DVD as there was with the Old Version.

If you did not get a copy of the Graduation Video in the summer of 2003 from me then please consider ordering a copy of the DVD Version of the video. It's one of the best ways of reliving the most important weeks in our lives.

If you have a copy of the original Graduation Video, still consider ordering the NEW DVD Version. As proven above, the quality is much improved and you will have the video on DVD instead of the old obsolete VHS format. If you enjoy the video, feel free to order friends or family a copy, too. It would be a great gift!
