After years of creating parody videos, the guys from Benstonium.com recorded their first ever parody song. In a collaboration with recording artist Shelby Cole and local producer Michael Gosnik, the Benstonium guys turned the Black Eyed Peas‘ “I Gotta Feeling” into a Penguins playoff anthem entitled “Dahn at the ‘Rena” (yinzer for “Down at the Arena”). The project began in March, when Benson heard the original version on the radio following a Pens’ game and immediately started turning the song upside dahn.
Special thanks to Shelby Cole for her amazing voice. When Shelby is first heard in the song, you’re quickly reminded that the Benstonium guys main area of expertise is comedy. (Again, The Benstonium Guys are not a band!) Also, props go out to Michael Gosnik for some amazing production and mixing work on the track. We couldn’t have done it without your skills and your integral background cameo. Please share the song with your friends and keep it loud throughout this playoff season, and Let’s Go Pens!
